Wahine Moe (Sleeping Lady) - The theme of The World through the Eyes of Another - Past, Present, Future gave me the inspiration about what is to come in the future, as the painting is set in the present. The lady in the mountain is looking towards space, that represents the future and the unknown of what may happen. The meteor shower shows her wishes in what she wants to do. The idea of having a lady lying down with her hair flowing out around her represents mountains. The idea of the mountain represents the past as it came from the female mountain in Māori legends of Mount Karioi in Raglan. Karioi was a Māori princess that lost her love and lay down to rest.
