The setting depicted by the painting is of an apocalyptic future as seen by one of the last to survive. Using The Planet of the Apes depiction of "The Statue of Liberty", I created an echo of the past which makes reference to the sociological turmoil present in Amerca. This symbolises the destruction of their freedom.
